21/06/2007 - Happy Summer Solstice
Hopefully you are having a great summer solstice, whether it is jumping round a field naked, surfing, sitting outdoors having a beer until midnight or like Mark T, our man in Scotland visiting Norway for a midnight kite surfing fest where the sun doesn't sleep.
Summer solstice is always a good time for kite surfers. Not only can you go to the beach after work and enjoy several hours of sailing but traditionally it marks the real beginning of summer when the winter steamers get put away and the shorties or rash vests come out for sailing as the water has warmed up over the 20C mark in Kent.
The next 6 weeks or so in the lead up to high summer typically see plenty of windy days [like the 20kt day we had today] that are sunny so provide great riding for beginners and experts alike.
This is also the time that we traditionally start to get busy so if you haven't got your course lined up yet take a look at the courses section and get in quick.
Happy Longest Day!
