26/07/2007 - Kitesports in Cornwall

The Kite Sports in Schools programme is gathering pace now and Andrew is certainly racking up mileage as Kerrier District Council in Cornwall are the next to get some instructors trained to deliver power kite training to kids when they come back into Autumn Term in September.

Andrew, one of our instructors at Transition and IKO Powerkite Trainer, spent several days down in Cornwall this week and in between torrential downpours trained the first Powerkite Instructors down there. Sasha, Mark, Dai, Joe, Julian and Carlos are the first teachers and sports instructors to go through the process down there and are planning on delivering powerkite training to kids over the summer holidays initially. Once school goes back in autumn then they will be delivering structured after school and PE lessons to kids at several Kerrier District schools in order for them to get involved with kite sports.

All the guys did really well and Andrew is definitely hooked on Cornwall now having seen some of it properly for the first time and can't wait to do the next instructor's course.
