Transition joins WRWUG05/10/2005

Transition Kiteboarding has joined the Whitstable Recreational Water Users Group in order to help promote recreational use of the Whitstable sea side as well as promote safety and work in conjunction with the other member groups.

Paul Joins Transition19/09/2005

Paul has been a rider at Whitstable for a fair while, coming out on moderately windy days when it is not so much fun to go windsurfing. He has completed his Instructor Training Course recently and has now come to work as one of Transition's full time instructors.

Daryl and Sue head south15/09/2005

Maybe winter is coming early this year - certainly none of the leaves are turning colour yet nor are the birds migrating but Daryl and Sue have left for the season heading off to Moon Beach in Egypt to do their winter contact.

Revolution? Innovation? Evolution? 10/09/2005

It is generally this time of the year that as instructors we finally get to see the bits of kit for the next season that the manufacturers have been tight-lipped about for the last 6-8 months. Tight lipped other than the leaked bits of video of the kites flying, schematics of the kites supposedly on secure areas of their web sites etc. Well it is all part of the hype machine and hopefully most of you and certainly us are immune to all of that.

First UK trainers course 14/07/2005

From the 11th to the 13th of July eight of the most senior instructors in the UK got together at the behest of Richard Gowers [BKSA Chairman] and Jeremy Waitt [BKSA Head of Training] to be taught by Neil Godbold [UK Instructor Examiner] to run Assistant Instructor / BKSA Instructor and BKSA Instructor Equivalency courses.

Where to launch at Whitstable06/04/2005

Whitstable is a fantastic riding spot. Plenty of shallow, flat water at low tide and nice rolly ramps at high tide. Coupled with two natural prevailing winds, it could be argued that Whitstable is the best single location for nearly every wind direction - it could be - were it not for the turbulence we get when the wind blows any way westerly...

No it isn't an April Fool's Day joke - the new season has now gone into full swing and plenty of students were out enjoying the fresh air - sunshine interspersed with fog and generally having a great time.

New course available01/02/2005

For 2005 we will be running a new introductory course for people interested in Power Kite Sports. The Power Kite Introductory Session is a short half day course designed to teach the student some of the fundamental kite skills needed as the base for all other traction kite sports such as kite surfing, buggying and kite land boarding. The course will be run as a morning or afternoon session once a month on the weekend and is £50 per student.
