23/10/2003 - Whitstable Takes Off
The first Whitstable kitefest happened this weekend and a great time was had by all. Sponsored by Transition Kiteboarding, Mud Bay and the Kent Kitesurfing Club, riders came from all over the south east to compete.
First place for the Open Freestyle event was given to James Stickels who clinched a very close final with a whopping quadruple back loop [landed]. All the competitors showed an excellent standard of riding.
This will become the first of many events to be held at Whitstable and if the standard of this one is any measure the others will be brilliant.
