James Stickels

IKO/BKSA Instructor [L2], Transition Senior Instructor

Part of a seemingly, and disappointingly dying breed, James is our resident "foil-man". Don't let this fool you though, he is a mean hand with an inflatable kite as well - ask anyone that has seen him ride - he just prefers to ride with 2-lines and on a Blade.

James has finally taken up his position as one of our full time instructors for 2005, even though he has been an instructor for the last three years, lifeguarding duties on Canterbury's coastline have kept him busy until now. Not any more however, and his smiling face can be seen now more or less every day at the "Kite" end of Whitstable Beach teaching students how to ride and polishing the skills of intermediates needing some more help.

Clinching the 2003 Whitstable Windfest win with an outrageous Quadruple Backloop, James has a partial sponsorship from mud bay clothing and regularly appears in various kiting magazines.

James' favourite trick is a Raley or a Tantrum which he regularly attempts to do with school kit - favouring the old skool approach to riding!
