Company History and Results

Transition Kiteboarding has a history of growth, due to our specialisation in training. We don't do retail and don't generate revenue through any other form of sales. This is something that many of our students like about us and has helped us become one of the top ranking schools in Europe.

If you are interested you can see our top line company results below to show you how we are growing and how the kite sports industry changes over time.

Company results 2005/6

Primary focus for the 2005/6 season was one of consolidation. We have invested a great deal of time and training into our staff particularly at Whitstable in the Sea Campus and this has paid off. With five full time instructors available we again saw growth whilst consistently delivering high quality training.

Company Results 2004/5

Transition Kiteboarding had another great year for the 2004/5 season. Again, the primary focus was kitesurfing lessons at the Whitstable Sea Campus, however a diversification into the other power kite sports such as Land Boarding and Parakarting was also achieved.

The 2004/5 season saw additional domain purchases, namely the acquisition of kitesports.co.uk from Kite Dynamics after their liquidation. In addition numerous other domains were purchased in order to protect the intellectual property of Transition Kiteboarding.

The audited results for 2004/5 season were:

Student increase:204.4%
Student days increase: 358.1%
Increase in total places: 103.8%
Utilisation [school]: 74.6%
Course breakdown [top 3]% of total
Kitesurfing 3 day course72.57%
Kitesurfing Taster Day16.37%
Kitesurfing 1-2-12.51%
Other courses 8.55%

As can be seen a huge leap forward was taken on the number of students as well as the number of days that students were coming down for.

Overall it can be said that the business is healthy and the long term prediction is that the business will increase again in the next year to more mature and stabilised values in terms of numbers of students and the number or days they come to courses for.

These figures form part of our committment to provide information about the kitesports industry and its current growth and trends.
