BKSA - The British Kite Surfing Association
The BKSA [British Kite Surfing Association] is our national guiding body. The BKSA operates an add-on instructor qualification to the general IKO qualification that all instructors must get in order to teach. The Kite Surfing Association also implements a set of minimum standards by which BKSA schools may be assessed so that customers will feel confident that they are learning in a safe and professional environment.
A BKSA school will have at a minimum:
- Fully qualified instructors
- All instructors trained in first aid and boat rescue
- A safety craft appropriate for the conditions
- Full insurance
Dovetailing with this, the BKSA is a members association that promotes grassroots activism for kitesurfing accross the country, helping locations keep their beaches open for access and operating the British Kitesurfing competition circuit throughout the year.
More information about the BKSA can be found at their website www.kitesurfing.org
